Permanent Makeup

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a technique that uses a dermograph to implant pigment into the upper layers of the dermis, recreating a natural and delicate makeup look. The possibilities are endless.

How long does it last?

Results typically last between 2 to 5 years before gradually fading. We recommend maintaining your pigmentation with touch-ups (ideally every 1 to 3 years) to keep your results looking fresh.

Keep in mind that semi-permanent makeup is an ART, not an exact science. Results may vary depending on age, skin regeneration capacity, pigment retention, and lifestyle habits.

How long does the appointment take?

Depending on the area to be treated and the complexity of the procedure, the appointment may last between 2 to 3 hours.

Generally, the consultation is included in the session. After filling out a client form and discussing the desired result with the artist (using reference photos), facial measurements will be taken to create a precise pre-drawing that will serve as a guide.

Once the design is approved by the client, the pigmentation process begins.

What is the healing time?

Visible healing typically takes 10 to 14 days, with full color stabilization occurring after approximately 4 weeks.

The day after the procedure, the color may appear significantly darker — this is completely normal and part of the healing process. Once healed, the pigmentation will lighten by about 20 to 30%, resulting in a soft and natural finish.

Does it hurt?

This varies depending on individual pain tolerance. Some discomfort may be felt, but a topical numbing gel is applied beforehand to minimize sensitivity and ensure a more comfortable experience.

Is a touch-up included?

(Initial session)

An optimal result is not always achieved after the first session. Current techniques do not allow us to predict exactly how many sessions will be required, as every person's skin responds differently.

Because pigment retention can vary from one person to another — and even from one area of the face to another — a second session is typically needed 4 to 6 weeks after the initial appointment.

✅ First touch-up is included free of charge.

Recommendations

  • You may gently exfoliate the area to be pigmented (eyebrows or lips) a few days before your appointment, and keep the skin well hydrated until the day of the procedure.

  • No facial treatments that stimulate cellular regeneration (such as peels, scrubs, microneedling, etc.) for at least 3 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Avoid UV exposure for at least 1 week before your procedure.

  • Do not take aspirin or consume alcohol 48 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Avoid coffee the morning of your appointment, and refrain from eating spicy foods in the days leading up to your visit.

  • Discontinue the use of Retin-A and AHA-based skincare products near the treatment area 2 weeks before and after your procedure.

  • No waxing, laser, or electrolysis treatments near the treated area 1 week before the procedure.

  • Important: If you have a history of cold sores and are booking a permanent lip pigmentation treatment, we strongly recommend consulting a healthcare professional about getting a preventive prescription of Valtrex before your appointment.
